BEST SCHOOLS FOR 200 HOURS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING RISHIKESH

Welcome to our 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh

There is a particular kind of courage required to begin. To arrive in Rishikesh — this ancient city where the Himalayas meet the Ganges, where the air itself seems to carry the memory of ten thousand years of practice — and to say, quietly but firmly: I am ready to learn. At Ravinder Yoga School, we have built our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training for precisely that moment. For you.

This 22-day residential programme is thoughtfully crafted to do two things simultaneously: to make you a skilled, confident, and authentic yoga teacher — and to begin the far longer, far more rewarding work of transforming you as a human being. Upon completion, you will be fully eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), a globally recognised credential that opens doors across the world.

"In an age where yoga is so often reduced to the shape of the body,
we insist on attending equally to the shape of the soul."

Our curriculum honours the full breadth of the yogic tradition. The asana practice — rooted in the classical styles of Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa — is taught with precision, care, and an understanding that the posture is always in service of something deeper.

Life at Ravinder Yoga School
The Practice · Rishikesh

Alongside this, students move through pranayama, the shat kriyas, Yoga Nidra, meditation, anatomy and physiology, and yoga philosophy. We also weave in the living traditions of Ayurveda, Karma Yoga, and Mantra Chanting — elements that are not afterthoughts here, but central threads in the fabric of Indian yogic heritage.

The schedule is disciplined but never punishing — six days of devoted study each week, with one day set aside for rest, reflection, and the particular kind of integration that only silence can offer. Comfortable accommodation, nourishing sattvic meals, and carefully arranged excursions are all woven into the course fee, so that your attention may remain where it belongs: entirely on the practice.

You will arrive as a student.
You will leave as a teacher — and, perhaps more importantly, as someone who has only just begun.

Curriculum in details

Ashtanga is yoga in its most honest form — a set sequence of postures you practice at your own pace, guided but never rushed. A personal conversation between body and breath, with a teacher nearby to support. Every student follows the same map; each journey is entirely their own.

Once a week, before the world has woken, we carry our mats to the banks of the Ganga. The river moves silently beside you. The Himalayas rest in the distance. This is not a regular class — it is a reminder of why yoga was born here, in this land, beside this water. Students often say this single morning stays with them long after the course ends.

If yoga were a tree, Hatha would be its roots. Slower, more deliberate, and deeply connected to the breath. You will learn not merely how to do a pose, but why it works, what it does to the body, and how to teach it clearly and safely to others.

A mantra is not merely a word — it is a sound that carries energy. When chanted with awareness, that vibration moves through the body, settles the mind, and gradually shifts the way you feel. This module includes Mantra Diksha, a traditional fire ceremony on the first day.

If the body is a garden, meditation is the water. You do not need to empty your mind — that is a myth. You simply practice watching your thoughts without being pulled into them. Over four weeks, this becomes natural, and its effects on daily life impossible to ignore.

Daily Schedule & Programme Structure

Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is thoughtfully structured to offer a harmonious balance between disciplined practice and moments of quiet reflection.

The programme unfolds over six days of dedicated study and practice each week. The seventh day is set aside for restorative rest and gentle exploration — including scenic Himalayan excursions, visits to sacred shrines and temples, and time to immerse oneself in the spiritual atmosphere of Rishikesh.

Though the schedule is purposefully full, many students find the experience not only manageable but deeply enriching — a graceful and illuminating process of inner transformation. Living in close harmony with nature throughout the training further enhances this profound sense of connection.

Days begin at 6:15 am with a short morning prayer and pranayama, followed by traditional Hatha Yoga practice. After breakfast, students engage in two focused academic sessions: Yoga Philosophy and Anatomy & Physiology.

The afternoon offers valuable time for self-study and personal practice, allowing the teachings to settle deeply. Later, we return to the mat for dynamic Vinyasa Yoga asana sessions, concluding the day with relaxation, Yoga Nidra, and meditation.

Evenings are enriched with uplifting cultural activities including Satsang (devotional singing), illuminating lectures, and occasional audio-visual presentations on yogic wisdom. Weekly assignments are thoughtfully incorporated to foster deeper understanding and integration of the material.

Three nourishing vegetarian meals are served daily, accompanied by fresh

fruit refreshments and herbal teas. We gently encourage students to retire by 10 pm, as restful sleep forms an essential part of the yogic discipline and supports the transformative nature of the training.

The Science of Life

Ayurvedic Wisdom

Led by a renowned Ayurvedic physician, this immersive intensive explores the foundations of holistic health through personalised wellness, bridging ancient ritual with the demands of modern life.

Nutritional Wisdom

Learn how to eat for your unique Prakriti, turning daily meals into medicine — a diet that nourishes your specific constitution from within.

Lifestyle Design

Align your circadian rhythm with nature's own biological cycles — restoring balance that the pace of modern world so often quietly erodes.

The Three Doshas

Identify Vata, Pitta, and Kapha within yourself — the first and most profound step toward lifelong health and mental clarity.

Ayurveda asks not what illness you have, but who you are — and from that knowing, all healing begins.

Sound healing session
The Power of Resonance

Sound Healing

Transformation happens in the silence between breaths. Our weekly Sound Healing sessions bypass the mind's relentless chatter to reach a profound state of cellular stillness.

Vibrational Therapy

Tibetan singing bowls harmonise the nervous system, allowing the body to release held tension at a level far beneath conscious thought.

Yoga Nidra Integration

A meditative practice for deep subconscious restoration, where sacred sound becomes the vessel carrying awareness into the luminous delta state.

Mental Clarity

Acoustic resonance gently quiets internal dialogue, dissolving incessant noise and guiding you toward a quality of stillness that words rarely capture.

Sound is the medicine of the future. In the stillness it creates, the body remembers how to heal itself.
