Welcome to our 10 days yoga retreat course

At Ravinder Yoga School, our 10 Days Yoga Retreat is our most immersive and complete retreat offering — running for 10 days and 9 nights in the sacred town of Rishikesh, India. This is, in every sense, a journey rather than simply a stay.

The retreat deepens everything the 7-day programme introduces — and adds considerably more. You will practise Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga each day, working with greater depth and continuity as the days build upon one another. Pranayama and Satkriya are woven throughout, as are sessions in Sound Healing and Yoga Philosophy — which by the end of ten days begin to feel less like lessons and rather more like a way of seeing.

What sets this retreat apart is the unique privilege of practising alongside the teacher training students of Ravinder Yoga School. You will share the shala with those who are deepening their own yoga education, and something rather wonderful tends to happen in that shared space — a seriousness of purpose, a generosity of attention, and a quality of practice that is genuinely elevating.

You will also receive a traditional Ayurvedic Massage and two half-day excursions to sacred sites around Rishikesh — including the serene Vashishtha Cave and the high and magnificent Kunjapuri Temple. These are not afterthoughts. They are, for many who come, among the most quietly memorable moments of the entire ten days.

A note on shared practice

During this retreat, guests practise yoga asanas alongside our teacher training students. This brings a richer, more alive quality to the shala — and for those who wish to deepen their own understanding of yoga, there is no finer environment in which to do so.

The practice schedule here is fuller and the days more richly layered than on a shorter retreat. By the end, most guests find they have changed — not dramatically, not in any way that would make a good story to tell at a dinner party — but in the quiet, cellular way that ten days of genuine practice tends to bring about.

Daily Practice Hatha Yoga

Classical postures, held and felt. The foundation of everything.

Daily Practice Ashtanga Yoga

A dynamic flowing sequence that builds energy, clarity, and inner heat.

Daily Practice Pranayama

Conscious breath — the bridge between body and mind, practised with care.

Daily Practice Yoga Philosophy

The living wisdom behind the practice — taught simply and without pretension.

Included Satkriya

Ancient cleansing practices that leave the body feeling genuinely refreshed.

Included Sound Healing

Sound as stillness. A session that lingers long after the bowl falls silent.

Special Ayurvedic Massage

Traditional warm oil therapy — ancient, restorative, and deeply nourishing.

Unique to 10 Days TTC Practice

Practise alongside teacher training students for a richer, deeper shala experience.

This retreat is warmly suited to complete beginners, those returning to yoga after time away, and those who have always wanted to go a little deeper. All teaching is in English, and the pace, while genuine, is never harsh. We would be very glad indeed to welcome you.

  • This retreat is for anyone who feels that seven days simply will not be enough — and they are almost certainly right.
  • It is particularly suited to those who are serious about beginning a real practice, not merely sampling one.
  • For those who have tried shorter retreats and returned home feeling that the stillness faded too soon, ten days offers a very different quality of change.
  • Those curious about the teacher training environment — but not yet ready to commit to a full training — will find this retreat offers a genuine and honest glimpse of that world.
  • For registered RYTs seeking Continuing Education hours, this retreat qualifies. Though one suspects the certificate will feel like the least remarkable thing one brings home.
  • Experienced practitioners are very welcome. A return to fundamentals, practised alongside those actively learning to teach, has a way of making those fundamentals feel entirely new again.

Who Will Benefit From This 7-Day Journey?

  • Those who are either fresh beginners or beginners with a little basic knowledge of yoga — you will find yourself very much at home here.
  • Those who want a short break from a busy and fast lifestyle to refresh and bring balance back to the body and mind.
  • Those curious about meditation — not as a concept, but as something one might actually carry into daily life.
  • Those looking for a more balanced way of living through yogic wisdom, science and practice.
  • Yoga teachers who wish to deepen their practice or receive further guidance — there is no shame in returning to the beginning. It is often where the most interesting discoveries are made.
  • Registered RYTs seeking Continuing Education hours. Though one rather hopes that by the end of the week, the certificate will feel like rather the least of what you have gained.

Curriculam in detail

Ashtanga is yoga in its most honest form — a set sequence of postures you practice at your own pace, guided but never rushed. A personal conversation between body and breath, with a teacher nearby to support. Every student follows the same map; each journey is entirely their own.

Once a week, before the world has woken, we carry our mats to the banks of the Ganga. The river moves silently beside you. The Himalayas rest in the distance. This is not a regular class — it is a reminder of why yoga was born here, in this land, beside this water. Students often say this single morning stays with them long after the course ends.

If yoga were a tree, Hatha would be its roots. Slower, more deliberate, and deeply connected to the breath. You will learn not merely how to do a pose, but why it works, what it does to the body, and how to teach it clearly and safely to others.

If the body is a garden, meditation is the water. You do not need to empty your mind — that is a myth. You simply practice watching your thoughts without being pulled into them. Over four weeks, this becomes natural, and its effects on daily life impossible to ignore.

Psychic sleep — a guided practice at the edge between waking and sleep. In this deeply restful state, old patterns begin to loosen, and the body repairs itself with remarkable efficiency. A 45-minute session is said to equal four hours of ordinary sleep. You will both experience it deeply and learn to guide others through it.

At its heart, yoga philosophy simply says this: body, mind, and deeper self are not separate — they are one. The texts we study are not dry books. They are maps drawn by people who understood the human mind extraordinarily well, thousands of years before modern psychology existed.
